CIPR Diversity Working Group Summit

I was proud to attend the CIPR’s first diversity summit today which looked at many issues relating to diversity, and indeed the lack of it, in PR and communications.

It’s an important topic and one which is pleasing is now on the CIPR’s agenda.  Well done to Catherine Grinyer who chairs the CIPR Diversity Working Group (CIPR DWG) and the rest of the DWG team for putting on this event.  We’re passionate supporters of increasing diversity in our sector at purplefish and we hope to work more closely with the CIPR DWG in the coming months to champion the issues in our home city of Bristol as well as build links with our sister organisation Represent, a social enterprise to increase diversity, inclusion and equality in Bristol’s creative sector.

We’re looking forward to seeing the outcome of this year’s CIPR survey, which, for the first time, included questions on background and diversity representation of CIPR members.  Without proper monitoring of our sector we cannot begin to measure change for the future.
