We have become a Living Wage employer. Today marks the latest increase of the Living Wage to £10.90 an hour – an increase of 10% on last year.
This is important to us as it represents our commitment to our people. While salary and pay is only one element of what we offer our team it is vital that staff at entry level and those coming into our industry receive a wage which reflects the true cost of living.
We are one of over 11,000 UK companies accredited to pay the Living Wage and we would like to see that number increase – there is an estimated 1.4 million businesses in the UK employing people (source: Gov.UK).
As well as being good for society paying the Living Wage is good for teams – enhancing productivity and boosting morale. Paying the Living Wage also extends to any subcontracted staff we work with, it’s not just a good decision for business it’s simply the right thing to do.
